Sailendra, meaning Lord of the Mountain, is name of the Indonesian dynasty of Central Java in the 8th century. The Sailendra dynasty held the concept of Dewa-Raja, or 'God-King', which believed that their King had divine power as a living god amongst his people. The Sailendra dynasty fell at the end of the 8th century and it left behind dozens of temples who told of the dynasty's history through stone carvings.
